The Women in PGMs Singapore Sling Round Table was held in June during the Asian Pacific Precious Metals Conference in Singapore, organized by the Singapore Bullion Market Association (“SBMA”). Our session was one of the best-attended round tables at the event, drawing a lively cross-industry audience. We would like to give special thanks to Albert Cheng, CEO of SBMA and Margaret Wong, Executive Director of SBMA, who generously gave us the opportunity to host this wonderful round table discussion. The event welcomed attendees from a broad range of precious metals industry backgrounds, including professionals from banks, trading firms, mining companies, manufacturers, brokerages, leading precious metals research houses and the LBMA, creating great conditions for open, cross-industry sharing.
The round table brought together both experienced industry professionals and new entrants to the sector, creating a relaxed yet valuable space for sharing different views and expertise across the industry. We were delighted to hear insightful market updates from guest speakers Yiyi Gao of Metals Focus and Joni Teves of UBS, who shared their outlooks on precious metals market performance and price trends. Group discussions covered key industry topics, including market reactions following the first deliveries of the Guangzhou Futures Exchange, the latest supply and demand trends across precious metals markets, as well as industry innovation and new applications for precious metals.
Beyond market-focused discussions, the round table was a great chance to showcase and promote our Women in PGMs mentorship program. The program received extremely positive feedback and strong interest from all participants. Attendees also exchanged thoughts on industry innovation, personal career development, and the evolving role of women within the precious metals sector. Overall, this Singapore event successfully strengthened industry connections, fostered wider collaboration, and further highlighted the value of the Women in PGMs network in supporting inclusive growth and knowledge sharing across the industry.
